The Thee Types of Disposable Vacuum Bags
Standard Single layer vacuum bags
Not used by vacuum manufacture anymore for use in new machines the single layer bags have been around since vacuum cleaners manufactures started using disposable paper liners in their vacuum clears. These bags are still being made today only to supply the demand for some of the older machine that are still working and still in use today. These bags were made from large Thin sheets of filter material cut glued and sometimes staple together the bags would typically filter dust particles down to 3-5 microns in size.
Micro-Lined Layer Vacuum Bags
Most commonly used vacuum bag type being used by Vacuum cleaner manufactures in machine being sold today are micro lined bags. We started to see Micro lined Vacuum bag technology being use in vacuum cleaners in the mid to late eighty's,
Greatly increasing the vacuum cleaner filtration. These bags are made from taking electrically charge micro fibers and weaving them together making a thin sheet of electrically charge micro filter material, Then layer with the standard paper filter bags making two layers as shown in the picture you can see the outer in this case brown standard paper liner with the white woven micro line filter fused to the inside of the outer paper liner. The finer particles get trap in the
woven micro filter material causing a great improvement in how well the vacuum cleaner filtration performs trapping particles down to .3 micron a large
improvement from the old standard vacuum cleaner bags
Synthetic Cloth / Hepa vacuum Bags
The cloth synthetic bags have been around for some time now
fifteen years or so but until the last five or six years were not that popular, I
believe part of the reason were do to the high cost and not understanding the
benefit of the bags. Since technology of these type of bags is different from one manufacture to another you will see that some will out perform other, but saying that all will perform better than the the two type of disposable bags (standard paper or micro-lined).. One of the two
benefits common with cloth synthetic bags vacuum bags is the filtration is better, Second but also very
important for me is that the vacuum bags can breath better than as
compare to the paper type bags as a paper bag type fill with dirt the dirt is trap and the air is exhausted though the small pores of the bags to keep the bag from blowing up like a balloon as the paper bags fills the small pores get clog with fine dust particles choking out the machine and a lose in power if over filled , The cloth synthetic bags do not have small pores but rely on multiples layers of woven micro fibers (picture shows layer of micro Filters) to trap the dirt and
letting the air exhaust freely.
